I've decided to add a post category for my jigsaw puzzles. My favorite puzzles are by an artist named Albert Lorenz, who is well known for his architectural renderings and his depictions of "legendary scenes". The line of Lorenz puzzles is known as the "Buried Blueprints" series, but unfortunately, these puzzles are not manufactured anymore; I've had to search EBay to find the latest two. You may not be able to tell by this photograph, but the level of details in these puzzles is quite amazing.
This particular puzzle is about Amelia Earhart, and I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together. It took me about a week. All the major players were there: Adolf Hitler, Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and of course Amelia herself, along with her contemporaries in the flying world.
The last Lorenz puzzle I put together was "Moses and the Ten Commandments". The challenge with that one was that I'd lost the box, and had to put the whole thing together without a guide picture. Next up is "The Garden of Eden", which looks challenging because it's mostly trees and a lot of monkeys.
Buried Blueprints that I've done in the past include:
- Robin Hood
- Legend of King Arthur
- Noah's Ark
- An Egyptian Chronicle
